Plasma Pen is the newest cosmetic procedure to combat wrinkles, loss of collagen, and sagging skin. As we age, the dermal layer of our skin thins, we produce less collagen, and we lose elasticity. All of these factors produce sagging and wrinkling of the skin.
The Plasma Pen is a soft-surgery procedure targeting a wide variety of skin conditions including loss of elasticity, sagging, and wrinkles that have been traditionally treated with fillers or plastic surgery.
How Does The Fibroplast Pen Work?
The plasma significantly tightens, lifts, resurfaces, and regenerates practically any area of the skin.
Fibroplast Pen converts electrical energy into gaseous diatomic molecular nitrogen and transmits that energized gas in a non-contact way to the skin's surface from above. This causes a micro-trauma to the skin's epidermal layer (top layers) whilst simultaneously heating and disrupting the deeper dermal structure via thermal conduction. This treatment is also known as fibroblasting. Fibroblasts are the most common cells of connective tissue in the body that produce collagen.

How Long Will It Take To See Results?

Only surgery can achieve these kinds of results. You will typically see immediate tightening along with cumulative improvements over the next three months in the appearance of saggy skin. In some cases it may require more than one session depending on the desired results.
Is The Treatment Painful?
Fibroplast Pen is mildly to moderately uncomfortable. Everyone's pain level is different and some areas of the body are more sensitive than others. Numbing cream is helpful in reducing the discomfort during treatment.

The Fibroplast Pen is a relatively safe treatment, particularly when compared to more invasive cosmetic procedures. However, no procedure is without risks and it's important to review and understand the contraindications and risks. Risks include:

- Scabbing and crusting
- Skin discoloration
- Scarring
What Downtime Can I Expect After My Fibroplast Pen Treatment?
There IS downtime. “Downtime” is very subjective. What you think “looks bad” and/or is “uncomfortable” can be very different from someone else's perception. If you are comparing it to cosmetic surgery, then no, the downtime is minimal. If you are comparing it to a light chemical peel where no one can tell you did anything and you are just a bit flaky everywhere, then no.
Redness, swelling and scabbing in the treatment area
Average of 8 days downtime on the face and neck areas
Average of 10 to 14 days on the body, depending on the area being treated and the intensity of the treatment
Swelling usually begins the day following your treatment, and peaks around day 3
After day 3, swelling subsides and scabs form.
Scabs normally begin to fall off around day 6 and 7 (for face and neck)
Please be aware that the days indicated are simply guidelines for average healing time. Healing time and results may be negatively compromised by not following the after care protocol: no drinking alcohol, no smoking and no picking/scrubbing. If your health is compromised in any way, this can also extend your healing time and negatively affect your results.

Day of Treatment
On the treatment day, it is recommended that no make-up is worn on the treatment area. You may take an antihistamine 30 minutes prior to your appointment to help with swelling and continue to take antihistamines for 2-3 days following your appointment.
Treatment time is usually between 30-120 minutes, depending on the size of the area.
Immediately after treatment the area may be red and mildly swollen with small carbon crusts (spots). You may experience a sensation similar to a sunburn which will likely last a few hours. Swelling may intensify over the following few hours and more so when eyes are treated and may last 2-3 days. The carbon crusts will lift within 5 -12 days depending on the individual and area treated. Results gradually improve over the course of the following 8-12 weeks.
Following treatment you will be given thorough aftercare instructions to ensure that you see the best results. In the week following treatment (or until the treatment area has fully healed) an exfoliating wash or cleanser should not be used. Instead opt for a pH balanced soap , and avoid rubbing the area.
Contraindications
Clients should be in good health at the time of the appointment, with no preexisting health conditions. If the client displays signs of cold or flu the treatment should be rescheduled.
Clients skin should not be inflamed in the area we are treating prior to procedure.
Clients prone to keloid scars are not ideal candidates.
Clients with diabetes, healing disorders or lymphatic draining issues should not undergo treatment.
Clients with a sunburn/suntan should postpone treatment.
Clients who have a history of Hyperpigmentation are not ideal candidates.
Clients must not display any tanning at the time of the treatment.

Clients must not display Herpes Simplex Virus (Cold sores/Fever blisters). You will need to reschedule your appointment if you are experiencing an outbreak. If you have experienced Herpes Simplex Virus (Cold sores/Fever blisters) in the past you must see your Medical Doctor and obtain a prescription for Valtrex and begin taking it 3 days before treatment and for 4 days following treatment. (This applies for treatments surrounding the lip area only)
Not for clients with pacemakers.
Not for clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Clients with Eyelash extensions receiving upper or lower eyelid treatment must have lashes removed prior to treatment and reapplied after 8 weeks.
This treatment is only recommended on light-medium skin tones . Anyone with a darker complexion is at risk for Hyperpigmentation.

* COVID-19 vaccinations: current guidelines are to avoid fillers for two weeks before and three weeks after vaccine, and to avoid anti-wrinkle treatments for one week following.
* Strictly no under-18s for aesthetic treatments, (18-25 year-olds will need to provide photo ID. We do offer some skin treatments for under 18s, but they must be occupied by an adult.)
* Pregnant or breastfeeding women (unless booking a pregnancy facial)
* Cold sores
* Wounds/sunburn
* Some auto immune disease can affect the response and longevity of treatment. To discuss please contact us.
* Recent Surgery without post-operative follow up
* Dermal Fillers or Anti-Wrinkle Treatments placed within 4 weeks of your appointment

Deposits and Cancellations
All appointments require a 30% booking deposit. Appointments are confirmed upon receipt of deposit payment.
ART SKIN CLINIC has a 72-hour cancellation policy. Deposits are non-refundable or transferable without 72 hours' notice.
To cancel or rearrange your appointment you must call the clinic.
Any changes to appointments after this time will require a new booking deposit.
Rearrangements for prepaid courses of treatment also require 72 hours' notice – failing to comply will result in a £50.00 cancellation fee.
Cancellations due to covid-19 require proof of a positive PC test; providing this we will honour your deposit regardless of notice given.
